My New Website Now What>Get Going

So you have a website-what now? Well the website is not going to go there and sell itself it needs input and constancy.

You have to make it work yourself. Or get someone else to do the marketing and donkey work.

You know how donkey’s work works-it’s slow and laborious, but you get there eventually.

If you really want to invest in your business you could put 1 or 2 hundred a month into Google adds.

Word of mouth and social media work but it needs to be regular and you have to be committed. With phones nowadays it’s easy to engage with social media.

Make it humorous-genuine-authentic the usual.

You could do competitions. Get business cards with the site on it.

Know a website is static in all its fluidity virtualness.

Google offfer these online courses which are mighty handy but really who has the time! If you have a couple of hours a week give them go.

You could try one. https://analytics.google.com/analytics/academy/

Everything is about numbers which revolve around sales your an author-an electrician-a doctor you have to sell yourself and your website analytics will tell you targets-behaviour-location-tracking etc.

It won’t happen just like that-you must make it happen.

Off you go!

Oh and remember your laptop- your mobile-your pc are aimed at you so everything is cached on your device- meaning it stores your info so you WILL see your site at the top.

NO it’s at the bottom on other people’s devices.

Best place to check where you are on the page is to go to your local web hub or library put in your business then you will see.

Off you go!

Classic WordPress v Gutenberg Block Editors

It’s all in the name ‘classic’ classic infers something that worked- that’s quintessential and time honoured but now we’re moving on: classic is dead Z classic is dead. Make way for the BLOCK! Even the name sounds ridiculous.

Why? Block is not user friendly-it’s too demanding, too confusing, too all over the place- irregular and anomalous.

At least the choice is still there but it’s constantly demanding use BLOCK. No I won’t!

STOP WORDPRESS.

Sometimes you wonder is it that software developers are sitting there navel gazing wondering is there anything to do?  I know let’s make some changes. And changes are good if they are done for the right reason-not just change for changes sake.

I know says dev we are WordPress mo’k?  Then Gutenberg the first press- yaw- that’s it we’ll make it like a book shape and on and on and they get all carried away.

Classic works- it is easy to follow-you don’t have to move things around. You want to write a story just write on a page like it is word doc and write.

You want to add media well no problem: press the add media or + and there you have it. But with block it is so tedious and mind numbing and super unfriendly- it must have been a bad pizza day when they came up with that block head idea.

Creating a YouTube Channel

Reading although it is good for leisure and thorough immersion and verisimilitude nothing can beat that feeling but today people prefer a visual aspect to knowing and learning.

Having a YouTube Channel is recommended. When learning or any kind of information is presented in video format people pay attention. The key if you are going to present is to be yourself.

Yes you can dress it up with lighting and backgrounds, audio and good camera’s knowing your subject and being passionate in a way that others enjoy and listen: then you will have hooked a following.

Remember it involves commitment and one video will not make any difference you have to be prepared to hand your life over to the virtual world.

The constancy is not for everyone although if you have a subject or image to you want to tell others a hint or advice you can’t go wrong with YouTube.

The New Google Search Console

The Search Console reports in Analytics provide information about the performance of your organic-search traffic.

You can see data like user queries and the number of times your site URLs appear in search results (impressions), along with post-click data about site engagement like bounce rate and ecommerce conversion rate.

This combination of data helps you optimize your site for the most profitable traffic.

So you want your site to take off. Here’s how!

Action=Behaviour right! And with every action there is a reaction. That is the behaviour. Trying to figure out the ‘why’ of this combo keeps statisticians’ busy using various mathematical equations.

If you have a full picture you can make deductions based on it. If you are shown half a picture then the mind has to imagine what is happening at the other side.

The same goes for Google analytics and statistics.

They input data from a site but if they only have one part of the picture, the analytics side you won’t see the full picture. So you must link analytics and adwords.

Yes the world is based on numbers and statistics. Numbers and statistics

won’t account for the outsider or outlier but in metrics that outlier has a place. By linking your Google analytics and adwords accounts you will see the reason behind the numbers and what that outlier does as well.
